Good to Know
Everything people ask us about visiting the farm, celebrating here, staying over, and meeting the animals — answered plainly.
Questions
Yes — on our public open days. The farm is not open to the public on a regular schedule; we open for select seasonal open days each year (usually peak-bloom weekends) and for our Fall Festival each October, plus booked events, private tours, and suite stays year-round. Open days are announced on our Events page — please check there, or contact us, before coming out.
Peak bloom at the farm runs from late June through early August. Our 14 lavender varieties don't all bloom at the same time, so the field flowers in waves across the season, and a lighter second bloom usually persists until about October.
On General Admission days, admission is $5 per person and children under 2 are free, payable at the farm by cash or credit card. On Cut Your Own Lavender days, a cutting ticket is $20 (one bundle of lavender weighing 8 oz), and a non-cutting ticket is $5 for guests who would rather walk the field and visit the animals.
Cut Your Own Lavender is a ticketed bloom-season event: you stroll our 4,000 lavender plants and cut your own bundle, with a lavender talk at the gazebo at quarter past the hour. Bring your own scissors and basket, and arrive during your time slot — it is a rain or shine event, and tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable to other dates. No cutting is allowed on General Admission days.
We're at 3814 Commodore Perry Hwy, Wakefield, RI 02879. Turn down Zech Drive between mile markers 24.4–24.6 and follow the gravel road in — ignore the “private, do not enter” sign — and park across from the white-and-black modern farmhouse.
No — please leave dogs at home. Dogs aren't allowed anywhere on the farm, and that includes Farm Suite stays and photo shoots. Our own two livestock guardian dogs, Lilly and Giulia, live and work here protecting the herd, and visiting dogs would stress the animals they guard. Thank you for understanding.
Questions
Almost any gathering you can picture outdoors. People hold weddings, ceremonies, and vow renewals here, corporate events, meetings, and company retreat days, birthday and anniversary parties, baby and bridal showers, engagement parties and rehearsal dinners, graduation parties, family reunions and gatherings, bar and bat mitzvahs, christenings, baptisms, and other religious celebrations, holiday and retirement parties, fundraisers, and celebrations of life. Groups also rent the farm for their own retreats and run their own program. If your gathering is not on that list, ask us — the farm is 14 wide-open acres, and if it fits under the tent and the sky, we can probably host it.
The farm hosts celebrations of up to 150 guests across 14 wide-open acres, with vows at the gazebo and dinner under the event tent. Smaller weddings are just as welcome here — from an intimate ceremony of a dozen guests to a full celebration of 150, every wedding gets the whole farm.
Yes — small ceremonies are warmly welcomed, and ceremony-only rentals (four hours among the lavender) start from $1,120. Peak-season weekends (Saturdays and Sundays, June through September) are reserved for events of 50 or more guests, but if a peak date is still open as it approaches, we are glad to welcome an intimate ceremony on it — just ask.
You are booking the venue: exclusive use of the farm grounds and gazebo, with the event tent and tent wall included in every tier. Classic and Signature tiers add farm tables and chairs arranged for your guest count, and we do not have on-site catering — our guests hire their own caterers, mobile bars, florists, and vendors to make the day entirely their own. Full pricing for all three tiers is on our Weddings and Events pages.
Yes, there is on-site parking for your guests. The farm has no event bathrooms of its own, so restroom facilities are arranged for each event: events over 50 guests require an additional restroom unit (one unit per 50 guests over 50), and that cost is already included in all package pricing.
Peak season is Saturdays and Sundays, June through September, for events of 50 or more guests. Standard-season rates apply at other times — for example, a 100-guest standard-season reception in the Classic tier is $6,230, and a 50-guest peak-season ceremony in the Essential tier is $2,800.
Email our events team at [email protected] or call the farm line, 401-203-4919, and tell us what you're celebrating and roughly how many guests to expect. We'll walk you through open dates, tiers, and everything the farm can do for your day. Event operation hours are 9 AM – 9 PM.
Questions
The Farm Suite books exclusively through Airbnb — availability, rates, and reservations all live there. The suite is our only rental on the farm and carries Airbnb Superhost status, rated 4.99/5 from 370+ reviews. See The Farm Suite page for photos and details, then reserve your dates on Airbnb.
Check-in is 3 PM and check-out is 11 AM — that leaves you the whole afternoon to settle in and a slow morning over the field before you head out.
The suite sleeps 4: a four-post king bed plus a queen futon in the living area, in a luxuriously rustic second floor with views over the lavender field. It is an adults-only stay, pets are not allowed, and there is a two-night minimum. Suite guests have access to the entire farm, including personal use of the custom-built gazebo.
The Farm Suite is an adults-only experience — a quiet retreat designed for grown-ups to slow down among the lavender. We don't host children in the suite, and that grown-up calm is a big part of why our guests come back.
The Gourmet Lavender Culinary Experience is a private dinner cooked right in the Farm Suite's kitchen: Chef Lauren prepares a multi-course, lavender-inspired meal for 1–4 people, with local ingredients and lavender harvested on the farm. It is a 2–3 hour experience at your own table, and it is described only here on our website — you won't find it in the Airbnb listing. See the Culinary Experience page for the full story.
The dinner is available to Farm Suite guests only — not the general public. Three courses are $150 per person, including 1 cocktail; five courses are $200 per person, including 2 cocktails, and the five course is available Saturday, Sunday, or Monday only. Gratuity is not included, and scheduling is subject to Chef Lauren's availability, so ask about it when you book your stay.
Questions
The farm is home to 5 alpacas, 2 llamas, 3 camels, 2 livestock guardian dogs (Lilly, a Spanish Pyrenean Mastiff, and Giulia, an Italian Maremma Sheepdog), and 1 barn cat, Leonard — plus a flock of chickens, ducks, geese, white peacocks, and guinea hens. The animals are part of every farm day: open days, private tours, events, and suite stays.
No — we don't offer camel rides. At the farm and at off-site events, guests meet the camels up close with their handler: photos, feeding, and petting inside a mobile enclosure. It's a meet-and-greet, not a ride, which keeps it safe and relaxed for guests and camels alike.
Yes — our camels travel to weddings, birthdays, corporate events, parades, live nativities, and film productions across New England. Packages run for 2 hours with professional handlers and setup included: the Classic experience is one camel from $1,900, Deluxe is two camels for $2,500, and Premium is all three camels for $3,500. Additional hours are $175 per hour, and travel beyond the first 25 miles each way is $3 per mile. Details are on our Camel Rentals page.
Our three camels — Humphrey, Bingham, and Jack — are three of Rhode Island's four privately held camels. Humphrey is a Bactrian camel, the two-humped kind, and Bingham and Jack are dromedaries — the only Arabian camels in Rhode Island.
Yes — the Animal Experience is a popular add-on to farm events. The camels can come out with their handler for photos and feeding for $300 for 2 hours, and the alpacas and llamas can roam the grounds for guests to feed and meet, also $300 for 2 hours.
Questions
Private group tours are booked for groups of 20 or more at $20 per person (a $400 minimum), with kids under age 2 free. The tour lasts about 1–2 hours with our staff — the farm's history, the animals, the poultry enclosure and pastures, and a lavender talk about our varieties and harvesting. Email [email protected] or call the farm line, 401-203-4919, with your date and group size.
Private tours need the 20-person minimum, because a tour is a dedicated hour or two with our staff. If your group is smaller, join us on a public open day instead — same fields, same animals — or stay in the Farm Suite and wander the farm at your own pace.
A photo shoot session is $100 per hour for the venue, by appointment only. The fee covers the location only — no photographer is provided, so please bring your own photographer. The lavender rows, the gazebo, and 14 acres of wide-open backdrop are at their best in peak bloom, late June through early August.
Yes, seasonally and in limited seats. Lavender Yoga runs Sunday mornings June through August, and sound baths are scheduled sessions at $35. When a session is on the calendar, tickets appear on our Events page.
